For consultants who wish to place a business website on the internet
for their independent candle business, here is an excellent set of
suggested FAQs, printed with permission from Cheryl Andreiw from her
website at http://CherylsCandles.com/
. The entire CherylsCandles website is very well constructed and
written.
Please read it as a RESOURCE,
and DO NOT copy text, graphics, etc
for use in your own website. Just as a note - ANY
TIME you link to someone else's website or "borrow"
text or graphics from them, you should ALWAYS
email them for permission in ADVANCE,
and provide a link back to the original source.
Which company are you an independent consultant for?
Unfortunately, the company I'm associated with has a policy that states, a consultant may not use the company name and
trademarks on a web site. That's why you don't see "Cheryl is an independent candle consultant with The Company" anywhere on
my site. There are however two links to the company which can be found on my Hosting/Consultant Info page. If you're not familiar with
these links, I highly suggest you check them out for the parent company's perspective on these topics.
Aren't you challenging company policy about web sites?
Company policy states that a consultant may not use the Company's name, trademarks, logo, trade names or service marks on
the WWW. I respect and adhere to these demands by not openly displaying any of the aforementioned on my web site.
What is the purpose of your web site?
My web site was specifically designed to provide information and an alternate method of communication for my established
customers. Information has also been provided for the purpose of attracting new hosts and potential consultants to the world of candle
parties.
Do you sell products on your web site?
No, Cheryl's Candle Corner is not an on-line store. In other words, a person unknown to me cannot simply place an order and
have product delivered to their door. In accordance with the Direct Sellers Association guidelines, a direct seller must establish a
relationship (make contact) with a customer or prospective customer before accepting an order. Understanding and adherence of the
DSA "code of ethics" is imperative for all consultants. There is also a section that describes the rights of a customer when dealing with
a direct seller. For a list of the guidelines click on the DSA link at the bottom of this page.
NOTE: The DSA link is to a Canadian site, however the same principals apply to American direct sellers.
How does the Relay Form work?
Information about general use of the form is clearly stated at it's beginning. Basically, when one of my clients inputs data and
submits the form I process it and return details of the transaction to the client. When details have been settled and payment has been
received the order is shipped in the usual fashion. The whole process is achieved through the use of email, and in some cases
telephone or personal contact.
How long have you been a candle consultant?
After many years of hosting and attending candle parties I decided to become a consultant in January 1998. To be honest, the
main reason I signed up was because I absolutely love the product.
What Unit and Region are you in?
I am in the Excaliburs unit of the Success Region.
How does your 3 wick contest work?
The 3 wick giveaway was designed to inspire visitors to sign my guest book. Anyone living in the continental USA and Canada
are eligible to enter. Simply adding a comment to the guest book gives you a chance to win. Visitors must include a name (full or part)
and of course I need their email address to notify them if they win. Some guests may choose not to list an email address with their
guest book entry. They can still be entered by sending an email notifying me of their intention. Visitors that write rude or
condescending guest book entries will not be entered in the draw. The winner's name, home town and hopefully a picture will be posted
on this web site in the same manner as the previous winner. Candle consultants are also welcome to enter. The candle is provided and
shipped courtesy of CherylsCandles.com, because Cheryl loves candles!
Can you suggest links to other consultant web sites?
There are hundreds of candle consultant web sites on the internet, some very good and some not so interesting. Listed randomly
below are some of mine and my husbands favorites based on information and presentation. (these links will open a new browser)
(Links provided)
To see/read this FAQ in its original form and
entirety, go to http://CherylsCandles.com/faq.htm
.
I would be happy to provide other resource links to
other consultant pages that are done with the same ethical standards as
this one. If you have created such a website and are willing to share your
ideas with other consultants, email your link to me for addition to this
page. Listing of pages in no way represents approval
or disapproval from our home office. However, I will not list any
consultant sites that violate trademark or copyright regulations. Belinda, webmaster
of BoB
