Parenting & [PL] - from the

A MUST READ!
New Feature on the Message
Board - Other DSA Companies
If you are a consultant from another DSA company who frequents BoB
and would like to have your own company-specific forum in this category
on the message board - read the About
this Forum post to find out how.
[PL] Communications Site FYI - or "What to do if you haven't received
your company monthly mailing yet" (thanks Maryfresh!)
You can still get to the mailer information on line at the PL Communications website. Even if you don't have Extranet
ordering privileges, you can still view the information that's in your mailer if you have ADOBE Acrobat Reader (freely
downloadable software). You can even print the stuff out from Adobe. Go to
the Extranet Site and enter your consultant ID#, and try your last four digits of your SS# in the
PIN# password window. (Extranet web address and phone numbers are in any
of this year's Reflections magazines) Once you sign on there, you can go to the Communications page and view the mailer
contents (all of it), even though you may not have ordering access. I will often print the hostess specials
page from here in color to send out to hostesses or to put in my folders. Also, it's nice because you can
access this even when you don't have your mailer with you.

Burning Calories
Jackie Whitaker
"tealited"
I just HAD to post this for the benefit of those who don't keep up with
the message board! -Belinda
Yep, that's right. I've devised a calorie chart to help us lose
those extra pounds we want to shed before conference. I figured we could burn calories while we're burning those
candles! So here we go!
Lighting a tealight - 10 calories
Lighting a votive - 20 calories
Lighting a 3-wick - 60 calories
Hugging the 3-wick - 100 calories
Cleaning up the mess after we hug too much - 200 calories
Note: Add 25 calories to each lighting above if you're using one
of those clickers that never seem to want to light. {click}
{click} {click} {click} {click} {click}
Bonus! 20 more calories for throwing the clicker across the
room!
Now for the aerobics!
Packing the car for a show - 300 calories
Unpacking the car for a show - 400 calories (since you have to
be so careful not to bang up their walls like yours are)
Setting up your display table and preparing for a show - 200
calories.
Note: Add 200 more if it's hot in there and you sweat like
there's no tomorrow!
Demo:
30 calories for each guest present at the show. Just
think - 10 guests and you burn 300 calories!
Bonus! Hostess Coaching - there goes another 40 calories!
Double Bonus! Sponsoring talks add 100 calories due to all the
excitement you display!
Packing up to go home - 200 calories if you move quickly.
Otherwise, 100.
Unpacking the car when you get home - 0. Leave it for
tomorrow!! LOL
Oh, and no goodies at the show! Unless of course, they are
calorie free treats, like the chocolate éclairs.
2+2 calls the next day - 1000 calories (stress does have it's
advantages)
Adding up your sales - 500 if you hit bonus, otherwise 200.
The busier you are, the more you burn!
So let's see, I just did a show last night with 12 guests
present. That's 360. Lit 12 tealights and 3 votives for a total of 180. My clicker didn't light most of the time, so I got the bonus 25. Pack, unpack, setup and demo, then pack again = 1300 since I
sweated up a storm (it was hot in there!) Add 140 for hostess coaching and sponsoring talk. 2+ 2's this morning = 1000 and finally, just added up my sales
which totaled $3000.00, so that's another 500. For a grand total, in just 2 days, I have burned 3505 calories!!
Since I only have to burn 3000 calories to lose one pound,
then by conference, I can drop 32.5 pounds if I do a show every other day between now and conference! And I get to
make lots of money while I'm losing! LOL
Have a great day all
Just4fun, Jackie, a.k.a. Pegleg (for another 6 weeks anyway)

No Popups Fund
Update $193.00
Thank you to the 34 people who took the time to cover the cost of
making our message board ad-free, faster to load, and just simply a
better resource for the other hundreds of people who use it and rely on
it daily. Just because it was the right thing to do. I hope when our
next 6 month renewal fee comes up that some of the rest of you who enjoy
the benefits of the BoB website & message board feel obliged to
commit a few dollars to keep it going.

Updated
Party Games Website Address
Mary has been hard at work updating her website - and the link
address had changed. I have updated the Business Links section, and also
added her button to the "Other Sites" section of the BoB
navigation. Just as BoB is primarily directed toward candle consultants
since that is what I know the best, the Party Games Site is directed
toward House of Lloyd, since that is the company Mary represents. Thanks
for such an awesome resource for all of us! Mary's Party Games Site is
one of the original BoB "business links" and I heartily
recommend her website!

Easy hostess gift: Glue a popsicle stick, lollipop stick, straw, or
other suitable "lollipop handle" on the back of a tealight.
Wrap with tulle (netting), cellophane, or tissue & tie with curling

Friday Nite Fling - Update
Oh
we're getting excited! Conference in St. Louis is going to be so awesome
this year! I recently visited St. Louis with one of our Business Links
vendors - Pat Johnson of Paron Candles - where we toured the Wyndham
meeting room facility and reserved it for the Friday Nite Fling. Those
of you who have been part of the Fling for the past three years know how
unbelievably crowded it has grown to hold it in a hotel room or suite -
we knew this year we had to expand. We'll also have a microphone to use
this year, and there will be a hotel cash bar right in the room for the
Fling.
In this picture you are inside the
entrance to the elegant meeting room at the Wyndham. Those doors open
directly out to the hotel lobby, which in turn opens (to the left) out to
the main entrance to the hotel, which is directly across from the
entrance to the TWA dome. There is a wonderful restaurant down the hall
in the hotel, and a mezzanine level overlooking the lobby and entrance
to the meeting room. Several BoB Businesses will be located in this room
throughout the week of conference so you'll be able to get a firsthand
look at their products. **NOTE: As in previous years, NO
Vendors are sanctioned by PL during conference. This is not an official
"part" of conference.
Order a FREE screen
name button from A&R Marketing so you can meet other online
friends in St Louis!
EZBoard - No Popups Fund

The prize this month is from Shirley The
Bag Lady - an Iced Crystal Trio Insulated Bag Set! This is an
awesome prize - I have used my set since 1998, and never broken a trio
piece while packing my bag. When I carried a hurricane shade to my
shows, all three trio pieces in their bags fit inside the hurricane
shade - which was the only piece I still used a box for. Sure makes
setup & take down easy & fast!

A&R
Marketing - Free Conference Name Buttons!
For the third year in a row, A&R
Marketing (aka FlameNGlos) is offering free conference buttons
for the cost of shipping. The design will be the same as last year, so
if you still have one from last year you don't need to order a new one.
If you are going to conference for the first time, or simply didn't know
about it before, it's really cool to meet people walking around at
conference and be able to match online screen names with real names
& faces!
Due to USAF time constraints, absolutely
all requests need to be emailed to Renee by no later than 28
May, meaning anything received after 28 May will
not be processed.
Shipping for the first button is 55 cents and 10 cents
for each additional button (ex: 2 buttons would need to send 65 cents for
the shipping of the buttons). We recommend that you
poll their units for people who will be attending and send in one request.
Email
your request to Renee with the following information:
Full name (first and last)
Screenname (ie FlameNGlos, etc)
City and State
Complete mailing address to ship the finished buttons
Send shipping payments to:
A&R Marketing, PO Box 254545, Patrick AFB, FL 32925-4545.
