Training Chat #1: Working For An Incentive Trip
2/10/02 compiled by Cheryl Johnson
Training Led by Bedazzled & Sixfigure
First of all I want to send out a sincere thank you to Bedazzled
and SixFigure for all the help they gave during this endeavor!! We
couldn’t have done it without you!! I also want to thank each and every
person that showed up and helped too!
Second, for those of you who experienced “technical
difficulties”, I am extremely sorry. We didn’t plan on having any
problems with the chat room and I sincerely apologize.
1. Have an open mind and a positive attitude, because
if you set yourself up to fail you will. Think positively and good
things will come. Remember that a positive attitude is contagious. Tell
yourself you are going and work towards that!
2. How to get there: Total the points you need to go
and subtract the amount you already have. Sponsor 3 in Feb. (3000 pts.)
you’ll hit TL (500 more points), sponsor 3 in March (3000 pts) and
then you hit UL (5000) points. Remaining points, divide that by your
show average (to be practical) and figure out that should tell you how
many shows you need to do in the next 6 weeks. If you went to conference
last year, add in another 600 points. If you were active in Sept., add
in another 200 points. Always keep track of your sales, you never know
when someone might make a boo boo and that way you’ll have all the
accurate information.
3. Remember that bookings, sponsoring and sales are
your keys to success with PL. Some good tips to help with bookings are:
Call all the guests on your guest list and tell them you’re trying to
surprise their hostess with a 3 booking gift and by booking a show they
can be part of the surprise; Book to look envelopes with prizes for
those that book a show; have those that are bookings shows pick a date
from your calendar, on your calendar place different prizes for booking
a show on that particular date. To boost sales, try telling your hostess
to find five people to purchase a particular item and she will get that
same item free (example: Beartie and Bea). Here’s another idea, bring
three gift bags with you. Fill one with 2 empty votive boxes (1 dozen),
one with an empty tealight box, and one with an empty jar. If they book
a show they get the bag. Tell them when they open it up and see that it’s
empty when their show holds, they will get that particular item that was
in their bag!! Another idea is to have a PL item wrapped up in really
pretty wrapping paper and bows and then put a big #3 hanging off of it.
Without fail the guests will ask what this is for. Don’t let the cat
out of the bag yet…tempt them with it. At the end of your demo tell
them that now you’ll let them know what it is. Tell your guests that
three people need to book a show in order to find out what’s inside.
Once you have your three (or more) say they’ll book a show, draw names
to see who wins. This person will receive that item when they hold their
show. (She can open it that night to see what it is.) The others that
didn’t win the wrapped prize will get a relax with wax pack or some
other prize. In keeping with earning Hawaii, make Lei Votive necklaces
and have your hostess wear these. As people say they’ll book a show,
they get one of the necklaces.
4. PL offers us incredible tools to use already to
help boost sales and bookings. One of them is the door prize slip. An
idea to change your questions around on the DPS are these: 1, what item
out of the catalog or your display is their favorite item and tell them
they have a chance to get it for free!! Everyone’s favorite word!! 2,
Ask them to provide you with their e-mail address so you can notify
everyone of the current specials and any specials you may personally be
offering. Also tell them that you offer a “refill service” and will
contact them within the next 2-3 months to check on their candle stash.
3, I ask for constructive criticism about how my demo was and what would
they change. 4, Ask them to put down the number 10 if they want to book
a show, 5 if they would consider it and 2 if they know of someone else
that would like to have a show. I always make sure to tell them if they
put 2 then to put their name and number on the back side of the DPS and
to please make sure they call their friend first before I have a chance
to call them to let them know I will be calling. I also have them put
down a 25 if they would be interested in hearing about the PL
opportunity. 5, Play the Ask Me About my Job Ticket game and then have a
drawing for this game. The PL survey (located on BoB and Tealighted) is
also a great tool to use to help boost your business. The Booking Gifts
can be a great way to get those bookings on the calendar. Try using this
line, “If you book a show, Sally Hostess will get this item for free
and you’ll be her friend for life!! Who wants to be a friend for
life??” Most people will do anything to help their friends out. Don’t
forget to ask EVERYONE that was at the show if they would like to book a
party.
