Welcome to the Starlight Express!
A visit to the Starlight Express is when Dreams come true, good wins over
Evil, love is faithful and true, hard work pays off, you see the light at
the end of the tunnel, and you discover the power within!
All this happens in a wonderful musical play written by
Andrew Lloyd Webber. The story was written for his young son.
The story tells about a little boy who dreams his toy trains come to life
to race across America. I have always wanted to see the play but
have never had the chance. I do, however; have the tape and often
use it to inspire me when I need a lift. I haven't met many people
that are familiar with Starlight as the play is too involved to tour and
most people have never heard of it.
Just under a year ago when I moved to Ohio, I met a
Starlight Express fan in the Burning Memories Unit at the Star Gazers
Regional meeting. Her name is Debbie Austrino, sponsored by SRVP
Beth Vesco-Smith. Debbie is one of the first friends I made at the
meetings. As I tried to fit in, I was drawn to two good friends,
Debbie and Colleen. Colleen is loud, feisty, funny, spontaneous and
always the center of attention. Debbie is quit, conservative very
detail oriented, organized and always around Colleen. In just one
meeting, these two wonderful ladies made me feel right at home.
As time has passed, I have had the honor of traveling
with these two and working on projects together allowing me to better know
them. Debbie has been living a " Starlight Express" life
in the time I have known her. She joined [company] after hearing all
the stories of [company] dreams and hopes.
Like the child in the story, Debbie has asked the
question, " [company] dreams, are you real; Yes or no?"!
Over time she has found, that dreams do come true when you discover the
power within you. Along the track to success she has stopped and
hitched up a few cars to follow right along behind her. Now her
train is too big to race on the Burning Memories training track.
This month Debbie promoted out her STARLIGHT EXPRESS
UNIT. The Starlight Express is now lined up with all the others in
the Stargazers Region and ready to race across America. As a new
entry in the race, it's not often a favorite to win, however; Debbie is a
sure bet to be a [company] winner!
Among the many talents and gifts Debbie has is the love
and support of her husband Sam. Sam is well known to all of Debbie's
[company] family as he is never far behind her and always on hand to
help out! Behind every great [company] leader is a loving and
supporting partner, and Sam is one of the best!
I'll miss her and the ladies she has sponsored at the
Burning Memories Unit meetings! Debbie has displayed her outstanding
leadership abilities at our meetings in the past. Now the time has
come for her to look deep inside and discover that she is the STARLIGHT!
This month as she fires up her engines and pulls out of Burning Memories
Unit with THE STARLIGHT EXPRESS UNIT, I wish her well! Keep heading
for the light at the end of the tunnel and soon you will be a new RVP!
Burning Memories has been just that! In the past
year Beth, Debbie and all the others have burned a lasting memory of just
how good life is when you are among great people! To all of
you I say Thank You for the support that enables people like Debbie to
make it on her own in [company]! Soon It will be my turn to move on
and leave Burning Memories behind. On that day I will know that you
have prepared me to enter the race as well. I'll pull up along side
all the other past Burning Memories Unit members at leaders meetings and
make all of you as proud as we are today, of Debbie! Best wishes on
your new unit; THE STARLIGHT EXPRESS!
