Not long ago I arrived home and found many
packages at my door after a friend put out the word that I was in need
of help. All of the gifts are loved and respected the same, large
or small, from rich or poor I'm equally thankful to everyone!
However, a few intrigued me more than others. One of them was from
Judy Schaefer and her return address label simply says "Independent
Consultant" on it. I don't know her, but the name was vaguely
familiar to me.
In side was a note of encouragement that included
her title of SRVP. I called my dear friend Jo and asked her if she
knew her. Jo asked my why, I told her, and Jo was not at all
surprised. It seems that doing an act of kindness for a
stranger is part of who Judy Schaefer is as a person! Jo told me
how Judy is loved by everyone that knows her and that her region name
was UNIVERSAL SPIRIT. I loved the region name and knew that I
would one day write about it.
I started a post on UNIVERSAL SPIRIT long ago and
felt like finishing it today. It was almost done, weeks of work a
little here a little there and I trashed it! I threw it in the
trash because it was not written from my heart. It was plain and dull,
it was missing the honesty of my past post that gives them warmth and a
life of there own. I was trying to please everyone that might read it
because some of the women that read them can send some of the most
unkind letters ever written when they don't like what you write.
Bitter, angry, unhappy and jealous people that send nasty letters had
raped my post of there affection and removed the last breath of life
from them. My post were truly dead, as dead as a list that had 300
members a few weeks ago.
All because of a few people!
Was that what [company] is about? Is that
the SPIRIT of [company]? Is it a UNIVERSAL SPIRIT in [company] or
the SPIRIT of a few unhappy people? The answer came in a card, a
HUGE card!
After moving to Ohio, I became a visitor at STAR
GAZERS regional meetings. Beth Vesco-Smith, the SRVP also invited me
into her unit! That is the SPIRIT of [company]. Not only am
I welcomed by everyone in STAR GAZERS, but they have gone out of there
way to make me feel a part of the family. The [company] family!
I so love the people in STAR GAZERS that I wanted to feel a part of my
own region that I have never been able to visit and called my SRVP
Lorraine Ricca.
Lorraine took time to talk with me and helped me
to be a part of KEEPERS OF THE LIGHT regional meeting. That is the
UNIVERSAL SPIRIT of [company]! A few days later I got a huge card
filled with warm heart felt wishes from everyone in KEEPERS OF THE
LIGHT. That's the UNIVERSAL SPIRIT of [company]!
The dictionary definition of the two words are,
"Universal-Including, relating to, or affecting all members of the
class or group under consideration. +Spirit- The essential nature of a
person or group."
The UNIVERSAL SPIRIT is " The
essential nature relating to or affecting all members of [company]!
Judy, Beth and Lorraine all have it! It's
not about ME and I, it is about WE and US! What can WE do to help
you out? Come to US if you need anything! You hear that all the
time in [company]. The UNIVERSAL SPIRIT of [company] is about
helping each other out. It's about uplifting one another with
kindness and support. Positive support with a smile on our faces.
I think that leaders in [company] develop the
Universal Spirit long before moving up in ranks or they just don't make
it. No one holds them back when they think only of themselves,
there selfishness and greed hold them back. [company] is a TEAM!
We need to become a part of the team. Treat all of the [company]
leaders with RESPECT and you respect yourself, because your part of the
same team! When you truly love a fellow [company] person and are willing
to put there best interest first, you have found it!
The UNIVERSAL SPIRIT of [company] does not speak
of others in a unkind manor, it is never a home to hate, anger or
jealousy and never tares down what others build. The UNIVERSAL
SPIRIT of [company] is that of Judy Schaefer, one that is known for
kindness to strangers! It is the SPIRIT of Beth Vesco-Smith, that
welcomes all into the [company] family as one of there own and the
SPIRIT of Lorraine Ricca, that reaches out long distances to let you
know you are loved by her kindness and support!
[company] has two UNIVERSAL SPIRITS! One is
a region lead by a kind, loving, supportive and wise leader. The
other is the Spirit of [company] that is in your heart when you think
not just of yourself, but look out for the best interest of all of us!
That is the UNIVERSAL SPIRIT!
