Stay Alive - Book Week Five

Stay Alive Book Week Five is a booking concept that the Jay Morgan RVP, Genesis Region created and trained the RVP's at an RVP meeting. This was originally posted to the candleleader onelist at the end of December 1998.

~Stay Alive Book Week Five~

This concept is taken from Jay Morgan RVP * Genesis Region
(He trained on this idea at the Fall 1998 RVP meeting)

1. Take out your date book and count out to week #5.

2. Take a sticky note and write the date for week #5 on it.

3. Stick that sticky note on the beginning of the current week.

4. Focus your 2+2 calls for booking shows during week #5.

5. You will begin to book shows for that week #5-- and weeks earlier too :-)

6. When the week is over throw away that sticky note.

7. Now repeat steps 1-5 on your NEW week #5.

See how it works? It really does work! People will book shows with you if you are looking for shows to book that are weeks away-- they feel that this way they will have "time" to get ready for the show.

I hope I have explained this ok. It is much better to see the demo in person. (Use a big calendar and demonstrate it). Use sticky notes and place them on the dates that the "demo consultant" gets a booking and then move to the next "week five" and put the sticky notes on the new booking dates received. Do this until you have gotten to the first "week five" and then see all of the sticky notes that are on the calendar to show all the bookings received by using this method! Pretty Awesome concept. Thanks Jay!

A Follow-up:

I was introduced to Stay Alive Book Week 5 (Jay Morgan - First Male RVP - Genesis Region) about 7 weeks ago, Needless to Say I had over a 4000 month most of it being during the last 2 weeks of the month. I was determined to
follow it and it worked, I am now Staying Alive Booking week 7 but I think I'm cutting off at week 8, because Kathy Watkins (Field Trainer) Taught us that anything over that is not necessary if we're doing our job right, so I'll be double booking days to dove tail soon.

The feeling at my shows of opening my calendar and being able to say I'm booked 5 weeks in advance is the best I have ever experienced. It shows the urgency to book then, it lets them know that I have a product and Service in demand, and it makes them stick to their dates. If you haven't already started, plan on it, and train on it immediately. You can tweak the dates accordingly however it is a simple format to follow. Good Luck!

And one more explanation from Jennifer Nunley that may simplify the process even more:

Get your calendar, 2 small sticky notes, and your contact list.  Decide how many shows you want to do a week.  I decided 2 or 3.  So I book 3 or 4, since 1 will probably not hold.  If all hold, I can just do them all or dovetail one.

Ok, here is where I got confused, but it is really quite simple!

1.  On the first sticky, write, "Week 1, book ____ for week 5."  I actually just write, "Stay Alive."  Put that sticky at the beginning of the week you are in, so right now, my sticky is on August 29th.

2.  On the 2nd sticky, write, "Book Week 5" and stick it on week 5, so my 2nd sticky is on October 3rd...5 weeks later.

3.  Week of October 3rd, I only have 1 show booked.  I need 3 or 4 BEFORE THIS WEEK IS OVER.  I only had 1 show this week (because I started this concept so that next week is my first Week 5 with 3 shows).  So I will do my 2+2's.  Very important:  When calling, only give them dates in your Week 5.  Let them choose another date if they need to, because this will help fill up the later weeks too.  But my first offer will be the 5th or the 7th.  Make 2+2's until your week 5 is "booked"!

Don't go to book Saturday night until Week 5 is booked the way you want it! After Saturday, put your sticky on the next weeks - September 5th and October 10th.  Having these sticky's there really helps when you are at a show getting your bookings.  There is so much already going on that it's easy to just look for the sticky!
