And now...the rest of the story...
A customer returned a 3-wick to me Sunday that she could not get to
burn properly. It only had one wick showing when it got to me - it had been burned not
even quite long enough to
But I said - let me try to fix it up - and if I can't we'll get you
another one....ok - enter the candle doctor (me) who has successfully fixed many a 3-wick
in the past year.....
Well, as I said, there was only one wick showing, so the first thing
I thought I'd do would be to put it in a large glass bowl, on a cookie sheet (thank
goodness for SOME foresight), in my oven just barely on, in order to soften it up enough
to find the missing two wicks & try to get it back to a point where it would burn
properly. This was about 4:00 yesterday afternoon....
Well, the weather here in Missouri is just gorgeous this week...Evan
(my 7 year old) just seems to be bitten by the sun-bug,and immediately after school every
day wants to go practice riding his bike, so off we go to the playground. Then I had a
Pampered Chef party to go to, we did...came back home, did some work on the computer, went
to bed....
Woke up this morning, never occurred to me that the house smelled
I am just crying cause I'm laughing so hard at myself....gee I guess
we'll be reordering that 3-wick after all....but guess what - I found the elusive wicks!
And all three had been burned at one end, so I know it DID start out right when she got it
LOL!
Well, I happened to have two empty Ocean Mist Bowls that needed to be
filled...hmmm...cranberry bowls are sounding pretty good....so I filled both of them, cut
the 3 wicks in half and made two - mini-3-wick bowls....I still have a ton of cranberry
wax....filled my Garden Spike from last year (usually burns tealights - but hey I'll take
a chance) and added some regular candlewick that I bought at Walmart....don't know what
I'm going to do with the rest of this wax...although I do have almost another Ocean Mist
bowl empty....just need to find some decent wicking....
