MATERIALS NEEDED: LOTS OF PLAY MONEY (or tickets if you do a drawing instead of the auction), 1 WRAPPED PRIZE (Sample: Relax With Wax: Herbal Tea Bag, T-Lite  & Bath Beads), 3 PRIZES FOR THE AUCTION OR DRAWING

DEMO: HAND EACH GUEST A PIECE OF PAPER WITH A PHRASE THAT THEY SAY WHEN THEY HEAR THEIR SPECIAL WORD DURING YOUR DEMO. 

(Guests only have to do it once- not every time word is said!)

GUEST RECEIVES $100 FOR RESPONSE,  $200 IF IT’S REALLY ENTERTAINING!

2 VOTIVES WITH A BUTANE LIGHTER

A CANDLE HOLDER (ONE SEA DRIFTER OR JEWEL) WITH A CANDLE
 

HAVE GUESTS COUNT $$, THE MOST $$ GETS A CANDLE

EXPLAIN RULES: NO SHARING $$$!!

BID ON EACH ITEM.  IF YOU DON’T HAVE MUCH $$, OR WANT TO KEEP YOUR $$ FOR THE NEXT ITEM, SAY- AND MEAN!- THE MAGIC WORDS (“I WANT A SHOPPING SPREE!”)- YOU GET TO KEEP YOUR $$ AND WIN THE PRIZE!

THIS IS GREAT FOR BOOKINGS AND A FUN WAY TO END THE DEMO… 

VARIATION:  IF YOU WANT TO USE MORE EXPENSIVE ITEMS FOR BOOKING INCENTIVES, DISPLAY THEM SEPARATELY & ADD THIS TO THE RULES:  

When you say the magic words, in addition to taking home your prize today, you will receive a special gift from this table when we close your (qualifying) party!”

ORDER FORM VARIATION

I encourage guests to use the order form as their wish list by saying this:

"One more convenience with PL is being able to place my orders online, so no one but you and me need to see the order forms! So please write the name of every item you like as you browse thru the catalog, and when it's time to shop we'll only put the prices next to the items you purchase tonight! This way you have a wish lost all ready lined up and I can contact you when your favorites go on special!" I also encourage them to write gift ideas and who would like it so when I make a customer service call I can say "so do you want to order the lighthouse for Jane this month,,,?"

Instead of using actual dps,'s I use the ORDER FORM as the DPS! 
I ask them to write their email addy in the box in the center of the form, and to put a * in the box as well if they want to be on my email list. 
As I add up each order I use the questions in the center of the form to get the info I want: starting with "I would like a PL presentation..." I ask, "so when would you like to reserve your own shopping spree?" With the 3rd question I ask "so what did you think of the demo tonight? Do you think my job looks like fun?" I stay very conversational and if I don't get the feeling that this is someone to sponsor, I fish for a referral- "So do you know someone who could use an extra $100 a night? I am always looking to expand my team!"  on the "I attended the show question I simply ask if they enjoyed the demo and learned something new about candles.
