THE ANSWERS
1. The purpose of the wedding attendants:

B to confuse jealous demons who might interrupt the wedding.
The bridesmaids traditionally dress similar to the bride, and the groomsmen
similar to the groom, to confuse evil spirits that might want to harm the
couple. At on time, 10 attendants was required. It was thought that the
spirits would not be able to discern the bride and groom from the attendants
due to the similar dress, and thus the evil spirits would be thwarted.

2. The brides veil represents:

B Chastity The brides veil - and not the white dress - is a symbol of virginity. That
is why, while all brides may feel free to wear white, it is considered inappropriate for a women who is marrying for other than the first time to wear a veil.

3. The receiving line, in which the new couple greets their guests, originated:

A Because it was considered lucky to touch them. It was thought that touching the bride and groom would brings guests good luck, because the couple was, on their wedding day, blessed by the gods.

4. The wedding ring is worn on the third finger of the left hand because:

D It was believed that a vein ran directly from that finger to the heart. The early Egyptians are credited with originating the traditional wedding band. Its circular shape was thought to symbolize eternity, and the wish that the bride and grooms life, happiness and love have no end.

5. The white gown symbolizes:

C Joy Although many think that the white dress symbolizes the brides virginity, it is in fact the color of joy. Early Greeks and Romans wore white for special feasts, births and celebrations. They would even paint their bodies white on the evening of wedding ceremonies.

6. The wedding cake symbolizes:

B Fertility Ancient Romans broke a thin layer of cake over the bride's head at the end of the ceremony to ensure fertility, and the crumbs were then gathered by the guests as good luck tokens. In medieval England, the tradition was modified: the guests would all bring small cakes, pile them in the center of the table, and then the bride and groom would attempt to kiss over them. A French baker was the first to ice all the small cakes together into one large cake - the style of cake still used in weddings today.
