ACS Raffle Update:
$420 today - the biggest single day so far! Running total is now
up to $1,170.00 with TWO FULL WEEKS REMAINING!
EVERY contribution is outstanding on its own merit - but one today stood
out from the rest --- Jennifer Peterson from Wisconsin asked her friends
to set an empty jar candle on their desks at work and raised $170.86 in
ONE WEEK! She rounded the contribution up to an even $175.00 - in one
very fat envelope! If she wins the drawing she writes that she will be
raffling off the prize at her August regional to raise $$ for NEXT
YEAR'S Charity of Focus!
I had to switch to a larger container to
hold all the accumulated entries & checks today - my vinyl money bag
was bursting at the seams.

Book
Show/Desk Show Pics
I heartily recommend taking your
pineapple 3-wick to all your shows! I had a "book show" last
week at my office - so I brought in my kit and set up a display on my
desk. Now obviously - that's not always possible - depending on the
office environment - but in this case it was sure productive! My hostess
just wanted to get to $200 in order to get those darn fish (hostess
special), but after smelling the pineapple 3-wick next to her desk for
about an hour she was figuring out how to get 3 bookings because she HAD
to have it!
See more pics on the Desk Show Page.

One more month to conference!!
Are you EXCITED?? I am! But we're still $123,645 away from the
Million Dollar Goal for ACS. Pillarnet suggests if everyone sent in $5
between now & conference we would make that goal. Here's an added
incentive from Best of the Boards and The Bag Lady.
Have you taken a look at the Bag
Lady's Packing Aids? How
would you like to win an ENTIRE SET of these Custom Made Packing Aids??
It's about a $230 value - and you would LOVE to have the entire set.
They are beyond awesome.
Click on the picture to find
out how you could win the entire product line!
Here's
a flyer you can print out to take to your Regional or Unit Workshop so
they can be in on the raffle too!
All entries received will be listed on
the RAFFLE PAGE so you will be able to see if yours has been received. You
do not have to be present at conference to win, but both drawings will take
place at the Friday Nite Fling.

Humor Me...

OK - It has nothing to do with candles or sales...although this new
baby sure tried to "help" this morning as I folded and stuffed
envelopes for the contest winners LOL...but I thought I'd introduce you
to the newest member of our family...and I could use some help with a
name :) Evan's leaning toward "Torpedo" and I just keep
calling her "Twirp"" or "Lil Bit". Help! (Click

Charlene's Games Book
Based right around Anessa's Themes - this Game Book is an AWESOME
tool! You can download the individual pages, or the entire set as either
Word doc or Adobe pdf (entire set is zipped in both formats). Just as in
Anessa's Themes - I will eventually get web versions done as well but
for now you can view them at least in pdf format and download for your
own use.
"PL Purse"
Jenn Nunley, candlecyberunit list
Instead of the "conventional" hostess packet, take
"PL Purses"! This is a paper gift bag, PL recommending gift or
purchased at Wal Mart w/ Candle stickers. Inside, place your
cattys, hostess brochure, YCHIA, guest lists, order forms, folded
Hostess Envelope (to collect money), and if you "trust" them
enough to hold their show, give them a votive sampler with an assortment
and give them a challenge to keep it! On the outside, attach a postcard that says, "Thank you for having a PL
show with me! Here is your 'Hostess Purse' to carry with you
wherever you go to show everyone our beautiful product line! This
makes it easy to collect orders from friends before the party!"
It may be easier to carry, also if people see it, they'll ask when they
probably would not have asked about the hostess envelope!
A GREAT response idea from Jo
B:
I'm still toying with the idea of the tealights or votive sampler--I
have done it once, party not closed yet so we'll see. What I did was
take a dozen tealights (different scents) and put a sticky with 1-12 on
the bottom of them. I told the hostess when she gets an outside
order, give one of the tealights to the person who ordered and write
that number on the top of their order form. When all 12 are gone
(therefore 12 orders), I will draw one number and that person will get a
special gift. Also, when all 12 are gone, the
hostess will get a FREE box of assorted tealights or the scent of her
choice.
Are you paying attention??
I know everyone makes it a daily habit to never miss the message
board. I don't think the same goes for the What's New Pages though, and
that's where new and news will always be posted first, and
won't ever get lost in pages of posts. It doesn't matter if you check it
three days in a row and there's nothing new - if you miss it on the
fourth you might miss something very important....like
this ONE DAY CONTEST.
If you are on the ball and reading this
today - click on THIS
LINK to send me your name, address, and the answers to the
following questions before midnight Central Standard Time, Tuesday June
13.
ONE IMPORTANT RULE...
anyone posting this contest to the lists or message board TODAY will be
disqualified from today's contest... but you're welcome to post later in
the week (after June 14) and let them know what they missed if they
don't check What's New!
1. What's the fastest & easiest way
to find the Millionaire game on BoB?
2. Who are the three newest business links on BoB, and how can they
boost your business?
3. How many winners of prizes were there in last year's Fling? (Friday
Nite Drawings only)
4. When will this year's BoB Conference get-together be held?
5. What day did the new message board format take effect?

June 14...I wonder where it will be announced... :)

PERFECT for separating the Home Scentiments® Wickless Samples!
I received the samples from Paron Business Aids today and am happy to tell you that the "Poly Cons MAXI - 1 oz. short" which are sold in quantities of 10/$3.50 are EXACTLY the right size to hold a tealight AND close the hinged lids, keeping the scents totally separated.
The 2 oz. (10/$4.00 - see pic below) size are slightly too short to hold the votive as
is, but I found a way! (I'm telling you - me & kitchen appliances -
a dangerous combination LOL! - no Cranberry
Flambe this time though!)
1. Remove the wick from your votives
2. Place the wickless votive in the 2 oz. Poly Con
3. Place the Poly Con in the microwave
IMPORTANT!!! Only microwave for a couple of minutes at a time or the container itself will develop a hole!
Heat just long enough to make the top of the votive soft enough to push down into the cup (about
2 - 3 minutes - twice)
OR...
Ask your helpful hubby or significant other to pull out
his trusty bandsaw and saw votives in half - they'll fit perfectly in
the PolyCons without melting and you can make TWO sets! (in this
case use the 1 OZ Poly Cons instead of the larger 2 oz. size)
Here's the FUN part...
4. Close the lids on the Poly Cons - leave them sitting in your hot car on a nice sunny day LOL - you'll have an awesome set of samplers with no wicks, with LIDS so the scents don't mix!
GREAT for the Indulgences especially! I just
transferred my Indulgence sampler into the 2 oz Poly Cons and it's great!
The Poly Cons 1/2 oz (12/$2.50) would be great if you wanted to go to the trouble of melting votives or tealights and filling the container with melted wax & no wick. They also have hinged lids, and are about 1/4" tall, so would be very easy to carry around and a sample made up in these would keep its scent FOREVER I would imagine!
www.paronbusinessaids.com
- then click in the Business Builders section to find the poly cons containers, clear zip loc bags, door hangers, and more of the little goodies we've been discussing over the past couple of weeks. When you order be sure to tell them you came from BoB!
